Our meet-up with Rowan and Nina in Seoul was a happy coincidence: we were on vacation, they were on their honeymoon. We covered their Baguio wedding just a week prior, so this was like a fun extension of their wedding day.
What we initially agreed to be just a quick walk around Seoul Forest Park turned into a whole day of even more walking and eating — two things we really enjoy doing when on a trip, which thankfully they do, too.
We had ramen near the Han River (going on ramen picnics by the Han River is apparently a thing in Seoul. We thoroughly enjoyed cooking our own ramen at a 7-Eleven!). We also got lost a couple of times, tried the street food at Gwangjang Market, and capped the day with by far the best Korean barbeque we’ve tried at Chung Ki Wa Town in Myeongdong. This last one was so good, Owen and I returned there the next day for dinner.
We were glad to have spent time with Rowan and Nina without the pressures of the wedding day — something we don’t often get to do with all our clients. Having done it in Korea in autumn — our favorite season — made it even more special.
